The term “gingham” comes from the Malayan word “genggang” which means “striped,” which is kind of odd, since gingham is a very specific check pattern consisting of even-sized diamonds (or squares) of white and a single other color. It’s this color simplicity and symmetry that sets gingham apart from plaid. 100% woven cotton. Made by hand. Click on BOW TIE for close-up & color description.
