Arthur Liberty was born in England, in 1843. He opened his eponymous store in London in 1875. Over the years, the Liberty name has become most associated with fabrics featuring small-scale Arts & Crafts, and Art Noveau designs. In fact, the store became so associated with these late 19th century artistic movements, this aesthetic became known in Italy as the Stile Liberty. 100% cotton. Approx. 17 inches square.
